‘Change starts locally’

Since January 20th, it has been evident that the current administration is not looking out for working Americans, as they had claimed, but instead has been sowing chaos, disruption and discord to the benefit of a handful of billionaires.

Locally we have seen people panicking over the potential loss to their essential services like Medicaid, Social Security, food assistance and the general dismantling of government that we’ve come to depend on.

Regardless of how people voted in the Presidential election, we are all in this together.

On April 5th, millions of Americans got together in the streets of our major cities and municipalities like Goshen to demand that our government pay attention to our needs.

The Goshen Democratic Committee believes that people are stronger together and that we have power in unity.

We’re looking to make a difference here, at the town and county level, because we know that change starts locally.

If you’re feeling confused, disheartened and disenfranchised by what’s happening nationally, we invite you to join us. In addition to our monthly meetings, the Goshen Democrats are hosting a fundraiser dinner on April 22 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Harness Racing Museum. You’ll have a chance to meet and network with fellow Goshen Democrats, as well as hear from our candidates for town and county offices.

There are a few last minute tickets available, which can be found at www.goshennydemocrats.org.

We hope to see you there.

    Thomas Howe

    Chairman, Goshen Democratic Committee
