| 23 Mar 2025 | 06:58

The Goshen Public Library and Historical Society is about a lot more than books. Take a look at its April events calendar to see what’s on tap.

April 2 at 9:30 a.m.: The Wednesday Wellness series continues with Gentle Yoga.

April 3 and April 17 at 10 a.m.: A new series called Salute & Sip begins. This is a program run in partnership with the Veterans Administration for area veterans to get together for coffee, donuts and conversation.

April 3 at 6 p.m.: “From Mickey Mouse to Star Wars: How the Walt Disney Company Conquered the Entertainment Universe.” This presentation by Brian Rose will cover how a small animation studio has grown into an all-encompassing pop-culture monolith. Join in person or virtually.

April 11 and 18 at 1 p.m.: Friday afternoon at the movies. For April, we’ll be showing two of Humphrey Bogart’s greatest films.

April 15 at 6 p.m.: Peep Needle Felting. This beginner-level needle felting class will have you making a cute bunny in the style of the Springtime marshmallow candy.

April 16 at 9:30 a.m.: The Wednesday Wellness series continues with Gentle Zumba.

Reminder: On April 9, the community is invited to vote for the library board and budget. Five seats are up for election.

And one further reminder: If you love new books by bestselling authors but have trouble keeping track of their releases, the library Bestsellers Club is for you. Library cardholders can sign up to have their names automatically placed on a reserve list before the general public knows a new release is coming up. Sign up to choose from a list of 48 favorite best-selling authors in regular or large print formats.
