On Tuesday, Nov. 9, Brookside Family Dentistry in Chester hosted a free Dental Day for veterans. Their staff welcomed veterans to visit the office for a choice of dental service. Food and refreshments were donated by Bagel Girls and Dunkin Donuts. The poppy came to symbolize the blood shed during battle following the publication of the wartime poem “In Flanders Fields.” The poem was written by Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, M.D. while serving on the front lines.
