Michael Edelstein shared this aerial photo of the Dutchess Quarry on Christmas Eve. The quarry is located in the Town of Goshen. Advocates for the property’s preservation said these caves are Orange County’s most important archaeological treasure, they are one of the oldest sites of prehistoric human habitation and activity east of the Mississippi River and their use has been dated back to between 12,400 to 15,000 years ago.
