We are lucky to have Bloomfield
To the Editor: I would like to add my name to those who are supporting Doug Bloomfield in his re-election as Supervisor of the Town of Goshen. There is no glory in being elected supervisor in the Town of Goshen or any other community in our area. It is a difficult job requiring long hours and hard work with little appreciation from most people. In addition, every few years you have to stand for re-election and some of those who have shown no interest in town government appear to tell you everything you have done wrong! The Town of Goshen is undergoing an enormous amount of growth, and there is an incredible amount of pressure on our local officials to get everything right. Doug takes his responsibilities seriously and has faced each issue head on. He is in town hall five days a week, attends planning board and zoning board meetings to keep an eye on building proposals, coordinates daily activities in town government departments as well as working with Orange County government in our unique position of being the county seat. He remains mindful of the wish of most of our community to control growth as well as keep the historic heritage for which Goshen has always been known. It is inconceivable for me to believe anyone would consider the job could be done on a part-time basis. We, in the Town of Goshen, are fortunate to have someone of Doug’s caliber serving in town government. As a registered Republican and a longtime resident of the town, I am voting for Doug Bloomfield for supervisor, and I urge everyone else to vote for him as well. Beverly L. Jappen Goshen
