On Sunday, May 16, the leading New York gubernatorial contender Rep. Lee Zeldin, a Republican and four-term Long Island member of Congress, paid a visit to Warwick, stopping off at Yesterday’s Restaurant on Main Street.
Zeldin, accompanied by State Senator Mike Martucci, first arrived at WTBQ’s radio station to record a broadcast and then visited the Village of Warwick.
Governor Andrew Cuomo’s current problems with both parties have given Republicans hope that they can win their first statewide election since former Gov. George Pataki won a third term in office in 2002. And Zeldin is currently considered the frontrunner.
