CHESTER — Girl Scouts in Chester's Troop 678 ended their last year in Juniors by planting flowers at the 911 Memorial and planting a new tree in memory of Alyssa Barberi at Carpenter Field in Chester.

The troop enjoyed adding to the Chester's beauty and looks forward to doing more community-minded activities next year as Cadets.

Recently Katie Koelling and her family visited the wounded warriors at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. On this trip they brought Girl Scout cookies donated by Troop 678. Goldberg's Bagels in Chester also discounted the price of their bagels and five dozen New York style bagels with all the fixings were served to the wounded warriors at the hospital. Money donations were given by Rich Hassan and the Koelling family to The Yellow Ribbon Fund, which provides for families of wounded warriors.

Accepting the donation for The Yellow Ribbon fund was Katie's uncle Master Sargent Dieter Koelling. Presenting the check was Connor, Katie and Jenna Koelling).
