The race for Town of Chester receiver of taxes
Chester. Incumbent Vincent Maniscalco faces a challenge from Karen Lopusnak to be the Receiver of Taxes for the next four years.
Karen Lopusnak, Democrat
My name is Karen Lopusnak. I moved to Chester more than 40 years ago with my husband John and two children, John and Cassie. My children graduated from the Chester Union Free School District.
As a parent I participated in being an assistant cub mother for Pack 42, and Committee Chairman, Fundraiser Chair for more than 15 years. I enjoyed watching our boys become young men and accomplished Eagle Scouts.
I am an Insurance Broker and Manager of The Feehan Insurance Agency on Main Street in Chester. I have worked in the business for more than 30 years and I am dedicated to helping people and assisting them with their insurance needs.
This is my intention to help the taxpayers also.
I was on the Chester Board of Education as a board member. From 1997-2002I, I was a Village Trustee, as well as Deputy Mayor.
I have enjoyed being involved in Chester’s growth over the years and hope to continue to serve the community as Tax Receiver. I would like to thank the Democratic committee for nominating me for this position. Please vote on November 2, 2021! We need and appreciate your support.
Vincent Maniscalco, Republican, Conservative
My name is Vincent Maniscalco and I am running for the position of Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Chester, a position I have held with great regard for the past 12 years. During my tenure, I have taken pride in delivering personalized customer service to all residents of the Town of Chester, ensuring their best interests at all times.
I, along with my wife Rose, have enjoyed living in the Town of Chester for more than 6 years. We have raised three sons: James, Steven and Vincent, all of whom have had the privilege of attending Chester Elementary and Junior/Senior High Schools.
I have also known first-hand the value of community service, while working alongside many Chester residents when serving on the Chester Volunteer Ambulance Corps for 15 years and while raising my sons as an active member of the Chester Little League.
These past experiences, along with my present position as Receiver of Taxes, have enriched my life greatly.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and have attended the Graduate School of Banking at Brown University. I am retired from a career in the Banking Industry as Senior Vice President and Regional Director. I attribute my strong work ethic and experience in public relations as the foundation for what’s been my present success as Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Chester.
I strongly believe that my experience as your tax receiver these past twelve years best qualifies me as the candidate to continue serving the needs of the people. If re-elected I intend to devote the next 4 years in the position of Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Chester with honesty and integrity.
I hope you will vote Maniscalco in the upcoming election on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.
