Teenagers indicted for Goshen murder and arson

GOSHEN — A grand jury has indicted two Orange County teenagers with murder and arson in the alleged killing of an 81-year-old Goshen woman in her home.

Devin Giordano, 19, of Goshen, and Jennifer Molyneaux, 17, of Walkill are set to be arraigned on the charges in front of Judge Nicholas DeRosa on Monday at 9 a.m. in Orange County Court.

The indictment was handed up by a grand jury in Orange County Court on Thursday,

The two are accused of killing Helen Mills in her Green Street home during a burglary and torching her home in the early morning hours of Aug. 2.

According to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, Mills was believed to have been strangled, and an autopsy showed that she suffered blunt force trauma wounds to her head and throat. Her badly burned body was discovered by firefighters in her bedroom.

Both Giordano and Molyneaux are facing second-degree murder charges, with Molyneaux facing an additional second-degree murder charge for intentional murder.

Along with the murder counts, both have been charged with committing a burglary, arson, and conspiracy.

Giordano and Molyneaux have been held without bail since their arrest on Aug. 2. Giordano is being held in Orange County Jail and Molyneaux is in Rensselaer County Jail.
