Sweet Tymes welcomes county executive

GOSHEN — Sweet Tymes, an old-fashioned sweet shop in the Village of Goshen, recently welcomed Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus as part of his “Open for Business” initiative.
Sweet Tymes specializes in nostalgic candies, homemade fudge and fresh ice cream. The shop is available for on- and off-site catering for parties and events. Sweet Tymes also serves milkshakes, egg creams and soda floats.
“Sweet Tymes has been a wonderful addition to the great shops and restaurants in downtown Goshen,” Neuhaus said. “The shop has received rave reviews and for good reason. Sweet Tymes has a welcoming hometown feel to it and its candy and other specialties are delicious. I wish Sweet Tymes continued success.”
Sweet Tymes is owned and operated by David Seligmann, who has owned a home in Goshen for 18 years. His wife, Irene Vecchi, and his daughter, Annelise Seligmann, 11, help him run the shop. Seligmann opened Sweet Tymes in July 2016 after a long career as an architectural designer.
He spent the last 10 years working as an architect in South America, the Caribbean and Latin America.
“I decided to do something different,” Seligmann, 65, said. “What doesn’t Goshen have? A candy shop. I decided to open a sweet shop. I became the candy man and I love what I’m doing. The response we have received is wonderful.”
Sweet Tymes is located at 159 West Main Street and can be reached at 845-360-5989 or by email at candyman@sweettymes.com. The shop’s website is sweettymes.com.
“County Executive Neuhaus is doing a great job for the County,” Seligmann said. “He is really developing Orange County from a business sense. I appreciate that he took some time to stop by the shop as part of his “Open for Business” tour to learn more about Sweet Tymes.”
Whether you are a large firm or a small family operation, Neuhaus invites new businesses in Orange County to contact his office to schedule a time for him to visit their establishment as part of the “Open for Business” program.
