Students of the Month are respectful, committed to success

— The C. J. Hooker Middle School has named its Students of the Month for October:
Grade 6Kaitlyn Stephenson, like most 6th graders, started school a little bit nervous and overwhelmed. Kaitlyn is super organized and such a hard worker. These two qualities helped Kaitlyn sail into October. Kaitlyn is super nice to all of her peers. When Kaitlyn doesn’t understand something, she stays after with her teachers. Kaitlyn is determined, gives 110 percent into her work, and perseveres.
Natalie Mill is a wonderful young adult. She is a mature and responsible student. Natalie is always kind and helpful when dealing with her peers. Her efforts in class make her a great role model for other students.
McKenna Walsh is a personable and responsible young lady. She takes her school work very seriously and is a conscientious worker. She is a good listener and good at following directions. McKenna is courteous and polite to peers and adults alike. She is willing to jump in and help whenever it is needed, and always with a smile.
Tristan Brown is a hardworking, kind, and humorous student who treats everyone in his classroom with respect. Tristan does his best to complete notes, classwork, and homework and is gracious when he is praised for his efforts. Tristan is always positive and polite.

Special Areas:
Keira Loftus is such a talented musician and always strives to do her best in Chorus Class. She is a very responsible and highly conscientious person who is a wonderful example to other students. Her positive attitude, dedication, and respectful nature are welcome attributes in the vocal ensemble. Keira is an absolute pleasure to have in class.
Grade 7Liam Lynch is a kind young man who often displays a considerate disposition. He is participative in class discussions, always prepared and organized. Teachers notice his consistently conscientious habits, as do his peers, making him a positive role model. Liam’s contributions are insightful and valuable. Liam balances the hard work with a sense of humor, which makes him easy to be around.
Joaquin Garcia exemplifies good character. He is a friend to everyone and always willing to help a peer or teacher, whether it be sharing his notes with a classmate who was absent or putting Chromebooks away when they are left out. Joaquin is responsible and hard working. He comes to class prepared and eager to learn each day, setting an excellent example of model behavior in all his classes. Not only is Joaquin respectful and polite to the adults in the building, but he is equally as kind to his peers.
Ryan Hablow has demonstrated increased growth and maturity in the classroom since entering the seventh grade. Ryan has shown his ability to focus his attention by actively listening to his peers and teaching staff and encouraging his classmates to achieve their goals. Ryan is off to a terrific start to his seventh-grade year.

Special Areas:
Vasiliki (Kiki) Protopsaltis is making great progress as a bass player in chamber orchestra this year. She puts in a lot of effort and sets a good example by being prepared and being involved. She has an enthusiastic and positive attitude.
Grade 8Angel Antunez is a polite young man eager to learn and be a respectful part of every class. He is unflinchingly attentive, always appropriate, thoughtful, curious, and appreciative. He demonstrates great potential and carries himself with poise and good character.
Norman Peters is a kind, respectful, and diligent student who is always putting forth his best effort in class. He works well with his classmates and is committed to academic success.
Bryce Bayack is kind to his classmates and respectful to adults. Bryce continues to work hard and has shown great progress in math class. Bryce is a student who follows directions while always trying his best. We really enjoy having Bryce as a student in our classes.

Special Areas:
Joseph Carmona has really progressed this year in art. He is motivated and really persistent when trying out new techniques. His effort is amazing and he is open to ask questions and receiving feedback.
