GOSHEN — This coming Saturday, Dec. 20, beginning at 10 a.m., members of the Fraternal Order of Police, Jason Conklin Memorial Lodge #957 in Monroe, will meet at the Orange County Courthouse to place Christmas wreaths on the memorial walls and then disperse throughout Orange County to place wreaths at the final resting places of the officers listed on the walls.

Lodge President Michael McGinn said that last year during the holiday season, members of the Jason Conklin Memorial Lodge began the tradition of placing Christmas wreaths on the grave sites of fallen officers as well as at the Orange County Law Enforcement Memorial Walls in Goshen.

"We do this to honor the memory of our officers and troopers that have made the ultimate sacrifice," McGinn said in his email announcing the program, "and as a reminder that their families and loved ones continue to feel the pain of their loss, especially during the holiday season. "

McGinn said members of law enforcement, their families and general public are welcome to participate in Saturday's activities.

He added: "If a department that has an officer listed on the wall or buried within their jurisdiction and would like to lay a wreath, please contact us at info@foplodge957.org or call our hotline at (845) 649-8782."
