Online auction to help feed children in Orange County to be held Oct. 24 through Nov. 6

Paul McCartney’s signed violin bass, Prince’s autographed purple guitar, or a trip for two to Scottsdale, Arizona. These are just a few of the big-ticket items that are available through the Dinner4KidsOC Online Auction.

Want to help feed kids in need? From Oct. 24 to Nov. 6, Dinners4KidsOC will be conducting a silent auction to benefit this charity that feeds school children in Orange County. The organization, which began in 2020, is currently feeding children in Monroe and Chester and is looking to spread elsewhere in the county with increased funding.

Schools are identifying at-risk children and once the parents have registered, the Empire Diner in Monroe prepares and assembles delicious and nutritious restaurant-quality microwaveable meals that a group of volunteers delivers several times each week to these families.

“The funds raised from this event will go directly to feeding children, and we need everyone’s support to make that happen,” said Charlene Hirschberg, Dinners4KidsOC Auction Co-Chair. “Our hope is that the public will take a look at these fabulous items and BID!”

Something for everyone

The auction features something for everyone: new items for the home like a Rachael Ray serving bowl, beautiful throw pillows, mid-century Rosenthal Studio Line vases, antiques and vintage items, artisanal and hand-crafted objects, jewelry, pampering pieces, art, gift certificates, sports, music and movie collectibles, as well as a special getaway.

One in five children

Sixteen million American kids struggle with hunger each year. An estimated 16.2 million children live in households that lack the means to get enough nutritious food on a regular basis. As a result, about one in five children go hungry at some point during the year. It is with these numbers in mind that Dinners4KidsOC was born.
