Middletown Medical coming to Chester plaza

— Middletown Medical is expanding to a new 4,000-foot facility in the ShopRite Plaza in Chester, with plans to open in February.

The facility will include an urgent care center, a walk-in clinic that delivers ambulatory care outside of a traditional emergency room. Urgent care centers primarily treat injuries or illnesses that need immediate care, but are not serious enough for an emergency room visit. The center's services will be available seven days a week.

Middletown Medical will relocate to Chester its Pediatric Express clinic, which also offers urgent care, from its current Middletown location. A member of the pediatric staff will be on site to offer walk-in treatment for children under 18.

The clinic will in addition offer appointments for primary and family care, and have specialists available on a rotating basis. Middletown Medical's Occupational Medicine Program will also be headquartered in Chester, assisting companies and organizations in evaluating, treating, and preventing work-related injuries and illnesses.

"We couldn't be more thrilled to be expanding into the southern portion of Orange County with such a wonderful facility, and one which will offer so much," said Lori Marl, Operations Director. "This is our most ambitious project to date, and will be the finest healthcare facility of its kind in the region. We're pleased this will serve as a very convenient location for so many people."

Hours for the Chester location will be Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Most insurances are accepted. For more information, visit middletownmedical.com, or call 342-4774.

Opened in 1984, Middletown Medical now includes seven locations throughout Orange and Sullivan counties (Middletown, Ellenville, Liberty, Monticello, Port Jervis, Warwick and Wurtsboro), including urgent care centers at the Middletown and Ellenville locations. Chester will be its eighth location when it opens next month.
