The Chester Kiwanis Club recently installed a community book box at village hall "to provide the children of our community, between the ages of 4 and 18, access to the books that unlock their imagination and transport them to another time and place."
Children are encouraged to take a book, which may be kept or returned for another child's use. Community members should feel free to leave their gently used, age-appropriate books. The book box is available during business hours, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at Chester Village hall, 47 Main St., Chester.
Mayor John Thomas Bell and Superintendent of Schools Denis Petrilak gathered on Sept. 9 with village trustees and Kiwanis members to unveil this library in miniature.
