— Mothers and students beaded, giggled, squeezed, hugged, and otherwise celebrated on Mother’s Day at Chabad Hebrew School in Chester, directed by Rabbi Pesach and Chana Burston.

The school hosted an “Honoring Ima" party ("Ima" means mother in Hebrew). Students and their mothers designed key-chains and necklaces, and wrote and decorated “Love-a-Grams” that were delivered with candy. In the “Ima Lemonade Exchange," mothers and children made freshly squeezed lemonade for one another, decorated with fresh floating fruit and mini umbrella toothpicks.

“Mother’s Day is an opportune time to teach children the Jewish values of honoring one’s parents, which is the fifth of the Ten Commandments,” said Chana Burston, who, together with her husband, Rabbi Pesach, direct the Hebrew School.

“Overall, the goal was for students to reflect and appreciate how much their mother does for them and spend quality time together,” added Rabbi Pesach Burston,
