Goshen Village Police activity for March 9 through 20
Goshen. Chief Ryan W. Rich’s report includes six arrests as well as a reminder that door-to-door solicitation is prohibited in the village.




The following is Goshen Village Police Chief Ryan W. Rich’s report the Village Board for March 24, 2025:
March 9
A vehicle was stopped on Main Street for speeding. The motorist possessed a suspended driver’s license with 17 active suspensions. The driver was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and released on multiple traffic tickets to return to Village Court.
March 10
A village resident reported vehicles not stopping for school busses while picking children up at a bus stop. It is dangerous and illegal to pass a school bus with red lights flashing. Tickets will be issued to violators.
March 12
A subject was arrested and charged with criminal mischief for damaging property during a domestic incident. That subject was arraigned at City of Middletown court and released to appear back in Goshen Village Court on a later date.
March 13
A vehicle was stopped for speeding on Greenwich Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated and charged with driving while intoxicated. That subject was released on traffic tickets to appear back in court.
March 15
Patrol responded to a location on West Main Street for a domestic incident. Subsequent to investigation, a subject was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing. That subject was arraigned at Orange County Jail and released to return back to village court.
March 16
The 48th Annual Mid-Hudson St. Patrick’s Day parade took place downtown. The rain held off and unseasonably warm temperature helped attract the largest attendance in recent years. There were no major issues to report. The Village of Goshen Police Department thanks all assisting agencies for another safe and successful event.
A vehicle was stopped on West Main Street for a traffic violation. The driver was found to be intoxicated and charged with driving while intoxicated. That subject was released on traffic ticket to appear back in court.
Patrols responded to a location on West Main Street for a trespass complaint. Subsequent to investigation a subject was charged with fourth-degree stalking and trespass, a violation. That subject was arraigned at Orange County Jail and released to appear back in village court. An order of protection was issued.
Complaints have been received from residents reporting utility and solar companies soliciting their service. Reminder: door-to-door solicitation is prohibited in the Village.
March 20
SRO Sergeant Andrew Scolza and SRO Michael Gregorio assisted Goshen Middle School students and staff with a lockdown drill.
The department is preparing for the upcoming Orange County Runners club “Spring Sprint” on Saturday, March 29. The event is a one-mile sprint beginning at the CJ Hooker Middle School and finishing at the Orange County Government Center.
