Goshen. Goshen Chamber celebrates Orange County Bagel Bakery and the Food Pantry
The Goshen Chamber of Commerce celebrated the winners of 2021 Business of the Year and Community Service Excellence Award at Brew Goshen on Tuesday, Dec. 14.
Business of the Year
The 2021 Business of the Year was awarded to Orange County Bagel Bakery. OC Bagels has been in the Village of Goshen since 2015. The Kunis family has two other locations in Middletown and Walden and are working to open their fourth store in Washingtonville.
Aside from great bagels and sandwiches, OC Bagels is a great supporter of Goshen, including the chamber, Goshen sports teams and first responders. Giving back to the communities that they serve is important to Brent Kunis and his family. Their philanthropy and success are what makes OC Bagels stand out, especially during the pandemic.
Community Service
The 2021 Excellence in Community Service Award Winner was the Goshen Ecumenical Food Pantry. The Goshen Ecumenical Food Pantry collects and distributes food twice a month to those in need from its home in the First Presbyterian Church. The pantry is run by CEO John Strobl who has been the organizing the food pantry for nearly 30 years and a small army of volunteers.
The pantry distributes more than 3,000 pounds of food to local families in need each month. The food pantry has been even more critical during the pandemic when even more people needed additional assistance.
The Goshen Chamber Mixer was made possible by sponsors Advanced Disaster Recovery Inc. and Atlas Security. A special thank you to Gladys Falto of Divine Events Creators for her backdrop balloon arch and design and to Brew Goshen for hosting and catering the event.
The Goshen Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization and is always looking for new members and volunteers to help with the many events and activities. If you are interested in joining, go to the website, www.goshennychamber.com or call 845-294-7741.
