CHESTER — Elizabeth Ann Reilly was appointed to fill the Village of Chester trustee position left open after Tom Bell was elected mayor.
She will serve for a period of one year or until the next election.
Bell made the appointment at the board's Jan. 11 meeting. He said the board had received nine resumes or letters of interest for the opening.
After being sworn in, Trustee Reilly thanked the board, she said she was very excited to begin her new position, and promised to do the best job she could.
Reilly will serve on the Building Committee with Trustee Alan Battiato. She and Trustee Christopher Battiato will work with the Downtown Business Owners Association.
Reilly is a lifelong resident of the village. She previously served as Town of Chester Clerk for 25 years. She was also deputy clerk of the village from 1980 to 1985.
