Dana Distributors and Anheuser-Busch donate water to Red Cross in Highland Falls
Highland Falls. In response to recent flooding, 50,000 cans of emergency drinking water were delivered.
Dana Distributors Inc. and Anheuser-Busch donated 50,000 cans of emergency drinking water on Thursday, July 20, to the American Red Cross at Highland Falls in response to recent flooding.
The flooding, which occurred on Sunday July 9, caused widespread damage to homes and businesses in the area. The water supply was also affected, and many residents were left without access to safe drinking water.
On Tuesday, July 11, Dana Distributors V.P. Patrick English delivered fpur pallets of bottled drinking water to the Sacred Heart shelter site at 7 Cozzens Ave. in Highland Falls in response to Regional Mass Care and Response Specialist James Temple asking for cases of water in a news story.
The donation of emergency drinking water from Dana Distributors Inc. and Anheuser-Busch will help to ensure that those affected by the flooding have access to clean, safe drinking water.
“We are grateful to Dana Distributors Inc. and Anheuser-Busch for their generous donation of emergency drinking water,” said Max Sanchez, Disaster Program Manager of American Red Cross in Highland Falls. “This donation will help to make a real difference in the lives of those who have been affected by the flooding.”
Long history of supporting disaster relief
Dana Distributors Inc. and Anheuser-Busch have a long history of supporting disaster relief efforts. In recent years, they have donated emergency drinking water to communities affected by flooding, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.
The water was sourced from the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville, Georgia, which alongside the Ft. Collins, Colorado, brewery periodically pauses beer production throughout the year to can emergency drinking water and help communities in times of disaster in partnership with the American Red Cross.
Anheuser-Busch has a longstanding tradition of providing support for disaster relief efforts in partnership with the American Red Cross, dating back to 1906. Since the inception of the emergency drinking water program in 1988, Anheuser-Busch and its wholesaler partners have provided more than 90 million cans of water to U.S. communities affected by natural disasters and other crises.
“We are committed to helping those in need,” said Fred Dana, president of Dana Distributors Inc. “We are proud to partner with the American Red Cross to provide emergency drinking water to those who have been affected by the flooding in Highland Falls.”
