Chester. Knights of Columbus donate $400 to Chester Girl Scout Troop 387 for community garden

Girl Scout Abby Ferraro and Girl Scout 387 Troop Leader Carlie Cambria are raising funds to build a community garden at the Chester Public Library. The project will earn a Girl Scouts Silver Award.
On Thursday, Sept. 3, the Chester Knights of Columbus donated $400 to Troop 387 to help with the endeavor.
The vegetable and flower garden will be used for library programs including helping to teach people the basics of gardening and cooking with garden vegetables while incorporating cookbooks from the library.
“Many people don’t have space or time for a garden and this can serve as a place to go,” Ferraro said.
Added Cambria: “Hopefully it will benefit the community in multiple ways including having enough vegetables to donate to the Chester Food Pantry.”
