Catholic Charities announces new board members

Shannon Kelly, CEO of Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster, has announced the appointment of four new members to the not-for-profit agency’s volunteer board of directors.

Catholic Charities’ board is comprised of volunteers from all walks of life who live or work in Orange, Sullivan or Ulster County. The board exercises fiduciary responsibility for the proper oversight and governance of the agency and the people it serves. The full board meets on a quarterly basis and members also participate in a variety of standing and ad hoc committees and attend Catholic Charities’ events throughout the year.

The new members are:

Kevin Armistead. A Goshen resident, Armistead is president and CEO of Armistead Mechanical, an HVAC and mechanical contracting firm. He is a member of the third-generation managing the Armistead family’s 100-year-old business. Armistead, his family and the firm are strong community supporters and active in many civic and charitable organizations throughout the region.

Vicky Burgh-Harris. A resident of Stone Ridge, Burgh-Harris serves as Coordinator of Human Services at SUNY Ulster. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she has two decades of experience providing counseling and therapeutic support to people struggling with mental health issues, including addiction. She shares her experience and expertise with aspiring social workers as an adjunct professor at SUNY Ulster.

Alex Cordova. A resident of Wappingers Falls, Cordova is a human resources professional with expertise in all facets of employee and labor relations. He serves as Human Resources Director for Ulster Savings Bank, which has branch locations throughout Catholic Charities’ service area.

Christy Kriney. A resident of Goshen, Kriney is a Doctor of Natural Medicine and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 20 years’ experience specializing in trauma-focused energy medicine to help people empower themselves through an awareness of the mind and body connection.
