Braemar, a new assisted living facility, opens in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN — Gloria Rykowski-Colello has moved back to the property where she grew up on a farm, and where she lived until the early 1960s. It's now Braemar at Wallkill, a new assisted living facility on Riverside Drive in Middletown.
On Thursday, June 4, the FilBen Group cut the ribbon for Braemar at Wallkill. Rykowski-Colello was presented with a plaque and acknowledgement as she moved back to the familiar property to enjoy her retirement.
Located on a six-acre property, the facility includes modern amenities such as an on-site wellness center, outdoor recreation areas, restaurant-style dining services and furnished apartments.
More than 100 guests, including Senator John Bonacic and Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, turned out Thursday to celebrate the grand opening.
The managing directors from the FilBen Group received a plaque from Wallkill's supervisor and commissioner of public works for their contributions to the community. Attendees were treated to a luncheon and tours of the facility throughout the duration of the day.
