Alyssa Barberi 5K Butterfly Run/Walk is Oct. 13

CHESTER — The Alyssa Barberi 5K Butterfly Run/Walk returns in October to raise money for an annual scholarship at Chester Academy.
Hosted by the Chester Academy Class of 2019, the event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13. The rain date Saturday, Oct. 20.
The flat, scenic course along the Heritage Trail begins and ends at Chester Academy, 64 Hambletonian Avenue, Chester.
Check-in time is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. at Chester Academy, and the run/walk begins at 9 a.m.
Registration is $15 if paid by Oct. 1, or $20 on the day of the race. Free tee shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants.
All proceeds will fund the Alyssa Barberi Memorial Scholarship. Alyssa Barberi was a beloved Chester Elementary student and Girl Scout who was only 11 years old when she died, on March 8, 2009. She especially loved butterflies.
Pre- and post-race refreshments will be provided by Shop Rite and Bella Luna Restaurant. There will be raffle prizes and music.
No rollerblades, bikes, or pets will be allowed.
Awards will be presented to the top three overall runners and top three in the following age groups:
11 & under
12-15
16-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60+
