Absolutely magical
Sugar Loaf. Walking through a winter wondertown.
There is nothing more magical than a small town at Christmas. The holiday festival in Sugar Loaf was no exception as small shops and locals welcomed visitors with open arms to join on the holiday cheer.
In the modern world of online shopping and Amazon, the event which aimed to help encourage families to shop local and support small towns while providing families with some holiday cheer and special memories.
“The Sugar Loaf Holiday Festival takes place in one of the most charming village settings in Orange County. The shops are unique and everyone here works together to make sure that a visit to the hamlet of Sugar Loaf will be a memorable one and that visitors will return and continue to support our small businesses,” said Sugar Loaf Community Foundation Treasurer Lydia Cuadros. “This year’s event had a major public relations campaign thanks to Gary Hunsberger, the new president of the Sugar Loaf Chamber of Commerce. We had an excellent turn out and I hope we can sponsor the event next year.”
Cuadros created the Holiday Festival in 2009 in the hopes of bringing more visitors to the hamlet.
As you walked along the decorated shops, stopping into artisan stores to do some shopping , a light drizzle falling from the sky, carolers singing Christmas melodies in the distance, kids laughing with excitement as they drank apple cider and waited for their turn to ride the horse drawn carriage or their turn to see Santa, for a second, your heart warmed you couldn’t help but smile with Christmas joy. This is what the season is all about.
This is how we all imagine the holidays should be: Absolutely magical.
