A sweet treat in Goshen

There is a sweet new place in the Village of Goshen.
Residents of Goshen and the surrounding area have been rolling out the red carpet for Sweet Tymes, a new candy store that serves so much more.
The Goshen Chamber of Commerce participated in a ribbon cutting on Aug. 5. Sweet Tymes makes its own fudge, serves Hudson Valley artisan ice cream by Jane's of Kingston, and presents a curated collection of nostalgia candy and modern favorites, alongside an enormous variety of bulk candies and Jelly Belly gourmet beans.
“We wanted to bring something new to downtown Goshen, a place where kids can come and buy a small treat, and parents and grandparents can come and relive happy memories," said owner and longtime Goshen resident David Seligmann. "We want to bring back the Sweet Tymes.”
Sweet Tymes is a family enterprise with Seligmann’s son, Lee, serving as the general manager, ice cream guru and float bar inventor (with eight kinds of root beer to begin your hunt for the ideal float), and his daughter, Annelise Seligmann, as the kid and flavor advisor.
Fudge is made in house by Seligmann’s wife, the Goshen Fudge Lady, Irene, and her team of fudge flavor assistants who are constantly dreaming up new varieties to defy traditional fudge perceptions. A recent debut of Jelly Donut Fudge sold out in less than a day. Don’t fret, they will make more. Try it with an egg cream made with authentic Brooklyn seltzer and Seligmann’s signature five cent devil dog to go along with it, he suggests.
Seligmann, a seasoned architectural designer, has applied his space planning and detailed design requirements in both the physical space and the product selections. Every detail in the shop is carefully considered and displays include family antiques, salvaged local mementos, including Black Dirt onion crates, reclaimed wood shelving and nostalgia candy racks made from galvanized pipe remnants.
“This is my favorite new store," said Victoria Shade of Goshen. "The fudge is unbelievable. So is the ice cream. And the candy is amazing. I love the decor too, just perfect in every direction.”
In addition to the products at the store, the Seligmanns will bring the sweet happiness to you in the form of catered platters, candy buffets, custom novelty and your choice of colors and flavors. A party space is available on site for birthday parties, bridal showers, family gatherings and other events.
