United Hospice, which has offices in Goshen and New City, has earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Home Care Accreditation Program Certification by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards.
“Home Care Accreditation Program Certification recognizes health care organizations commitment to fostering continuous quality improvement in patient safety and quality of care.” said Mark Pelletier, the Chief Operating Officer for the Joint Commission. “We commend United Hospice for using certification to reduce variation in its clinical processes and to strengthen its program structure and management framework for palliative care patients.”
As part of the certification process, United Hospice underwent a rigorous, unannounced three-day review in January 2021. During the visit, a team of commission reviewers evaluated compliance with related certification standards including program management, leadership, and quality assurance performance improvement as well as delivering and facilitating clinical care. The reviewers also conducted onsite observations and interviews.
