Roy Ludlum Lippincott Jr. of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., and formerly of Goshen, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021, at Treasure Coast Hospice in Fort Pierce, Fla. He was 80 years old.
Roy was born and raised in Goshen, son of Dr. Roy L. Lippincott Sr. and Lucie (Wallace) Lippincott.
After one year of college, Roy joined the United States Marine Corps, serving for four years.
Upon discharge, he began his schooling in the funeral service industry. He graduated from the Simmons School of Embalming and Mortuary Science in Syracuse.
Along with owning funeral homes in Middletown, Goshen and Chester, Roy served as an Orange County coroner for 15 years.
He enjoyed being an active communicant of Saint James Episcopal Church in Goshen.
Upon retirement, he moved to Port St. Lucie, Florida,where he and his wife resided for the past 22 years and were members of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity in Port St. Lucie.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sally Latour Lippincott; son Randall L. Lippincott of Waynesboro, Va.; daughter Sarah M. Lippincott and husband, Todd Eisgruber of Staunton, Va. He is also survived by two grandsons, James A. Lippincott and Rylan L. Lippincott along with several nieces and nephews.
Roy was predeceased by his parents; sister Gertrude L. Migel; daughter Amy Lippincott; and his nephew, Stephan Migel.
Memorial services will be held at a later date. Contributions can be made to St. James Church in Goshen, N.Y., Church of the Nativity, Port St. Lucie, Fla., or Sarah’s Kitchen of the Treasure Coast, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
