Langdon “Bill” William Peck of Goshen died Monday, Sept. 6, 2021, after a nine-month battle with a rare and aggressive cancer SCLC in the home he built for his son. He was 76 years old.

He was born on April 24, 1945 to Raymond and Constance Peck in Baldwinsville. He was raised in Oswego and graduated from Oswego Catholic High. He also attained an Associates of Arts degree at SUNY Orange.

He was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Navy from 1964-1968. He served two tours of duty off the shores of Vietnam on the aircraft carrier USS Ticonderoga. He also served on the USS Kitty Hawk. He was loyal to his country.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Yager Peck; son Shawn; daughter Lynn (Steven Hunter) and 12-year-old granddaughters, Brooke and Samantha; brother G. Michael Peck of Orlando, Fla. Bill also left behind sisters-in-law Beverly Yager Robinson and Regina Yager of Deland, Fla., whom he loved as sisters. He sadly left behind his beloved nieces and nephews some of whom he felt like their Dad. They each held a unique spot deep in his heart: Brenda, Rick, Alyssa, Tristyn, Skylor, Christie, David, Maya, Tessa, Grace, Joanne, Jovanny, Felix, Anna Sofia, Rosaline, Katie, Randy, Karen , Victoria, Sophia and Brandon, Noah, Sara, Joshua, Brian, Thomas, Christina, Ian and Zach.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ruth and Gerald Yager; sister Karen Peck; his twin baby nephews, Gerald and James, and his recently deceased nephew Matthew.

Bill was a man of his word. A good husband and a loving Dad. The light of his life were his twin granddaughters. They were his passion. He found his joy in their presence. Be it painting rocks, building bird houses or playing archery, he loved them with all he had.

Bill loved his friends and his neighbors he was always there for them, as they were for him. He counted each as a blessing. He loved building or rebuilding in his garage and barn, especially when friends would drop in. He’s known for his love of Woodstock and his braid.

Bill was the patriarch of our family. He was a man of deep faith and a Knights of Columbus member and we loved him deeply and our hearts are broken.

Thank you to Dr. Dinsmore and the entire staff, Sister Anne and the loving Hospice staff.
