Alice V. Talmadge, lifetime resident of Sugar Loaf, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, with her loving family by her side. She was 92 years old.

Born on July 9, 1928, she was the daughter of Howard and Nettie Vance.

Alice was married to Roy C. Talmadge who predeceased her in 2006.

Alice worked in the Orange County Government Center in Goshen in the mail room.

She was an active lifetime parishioner of the Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church. All those who knew her, loved her and called her “Ackie,” a longtime term of endearment.

Survivors include daughters: Donna Scheuermann and her husband James of Warwick, and Edith Pennell and her husband Wayne of McGraw; son-in-law Adrian Stillwell IV of Newburgh; sister Edith Volk and her husband Philip of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren: Carrie Ausman; and her husband Damon, James R. Scheuermann and his wife Tania, Richard A. Biondi and his wife Sarah, Elizabeth Protsko, Caitlin Stillwell and Joel Pennell and his wife Shamsi; eight great-grandchildren: Victoria, Rebecca, Kierstyn, Rieley, James, Alexis, Kalle and Maxwell; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter Ruth Stillwell (2012) and siblings: Russell, Gladys, Isabel, Howard Jr., Betty and Wilma.

Memorial donations may be made to Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, 1387 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, NY 10981.

Visitation was held Jan. 28 at Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick.

A graveside service followed in Warwick Cemetery, with the Rev. Michael Barry officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home.
