This is my answer to Jessica Cohen’s question last week about local “modes of community engagement.”
I just finished my undergraduate studies at Marist College last month, which included a thirty-five-minute video documentary detailing the impact and influence that Frederick Law Olmsted had in the Hudson Valley. In addition to narrating the video, I also provided the background music for the documentary.
Speaking about music, I will be performing at the Esplanade at Palisades assisted living facility this Thursday, January 13, at 1:30 PM. The facility is located at 640 Oak Tree Rd, Palisades, NY (845) 359.7870. Here is a sample of my performance there last month which includes classical, jazz, and classic rock:

Certainly with all the news about our raging pandemic, bleak weather, and divisive politics, I thought a story about a young historian producing videos, podcasts, and published articles in journals while also performing at senior assisted living facilities might add a little cheer for some on these otherwise freezing, overcast days.
