How sweet it is
Goshen. Trailside Treats has opened a new second location in the village of Goshen.

The Parlor at Trailside Treats Creamery, located at 99 Railroad Ave., opened its doors on Saturday, March 29, a perfect day for ice cream as the temperature creeped close to 80 degrees.
Owner Paul Corey runs the creamery with his longtime girlfriend Denise Guion. He said it’s that time of year again.
“This is when everything is gearing up,” Corey said. “Everybody is itching for ice cream. It’s been a long winter.”
The new location will be open year-round unlike the Trailside Treats Ice Cream Stand located at 28 St. James Place, which is open April through October.
The new location also features an indoor seating section unlike the ice cream stand, which only has outdoor seating. The ice cream stand will open April 19. 1.
Derrick Diaz and Patti Douglas are customers of Trailside Treats. On Monday, March 31, the pair were together with Derrick enjoying a Coke float and Patti an American cherry vanilla gelato. They also came to the store on opening day as the temperatures soared.
“When I got off work I said to her, ‘are you thinking what I am thinking,’” Diaz said.
He said he likes the atmosphere at the new location, describing it as “friendly.” He said having the store indoors will allow him to have ice cream on rainy days. He has been a customer of Trailside Treats for several years. The ice cream stand first opened in 2012.
Corey said he needed to expand to meet demand. The new location will allow him to make ice cream cakes for customers. He makes all of his ice cream himself, inventing dozens of flavors with 25 available at a time. He said the most popular flavor is cappuccino fudge crunch.
Corey said he grew up in Goshen.
“I feel very fortunate to run a business in Goshen,” he said, noting he has received nothing but positive feedback on the expansion of his business.
He described his customer base as “family-oriented” with everyone from kids to adults enjoying themselves at his stores. Railroad Avenue is a block away from Main Street in Goshen, but his location was jam packed as he said he used social media to get the word out about the new spot.
