Webinar. Peggy W. Norris hosts Stitches in Time: Quilts, 1800-1976, on March 1
On Monday, March 1, at 7:30 p.m., Peggy W. Norris will present a webinar “Stitches in Time: Quilts, 1800-1976.”
During the presentation, she will explore a large variety of quilts, some dated as early as 1800. Hosted by Mahwah Museum, the webinar is free, but donations to the museum are welcome. Registration is required; please register in advance at www.mahwahmuseum.org.
American quilts have decorated our beds and kept us warm for two centuries. Norris, best known for her study of local history and genealogy, has also made a study of American quilts. She is a member of the local Brownstone Quilters Guild and of the national American Quilt Study Group and a quilt-maker herself.
She and other local historians are planning a quilt and coverlet show for June 11 and 12, in Ridgewood. Norris will discuss many of the exceptional quilts that will be exhibited during the show. Learn more about the Bergen County Quilt and Coverlet Show at www.bergencountyquiltandcoverletshow.com.
