Hunger Club was busy all summer getting ready for fall
The Goshen School District's Youth Ending Hunger Club maintains a pantry at the Goshen Intermediate School. The club was busy all summer planning for the fall. Their motto is "Ending Hunger One Person at a Time." Established in 2001, the club serves nearly 80 families during major holidays and individual disasters. The plan for this fall is to showcase the perfect backpack for a Goshen student. The Goshen schools' food pantry operates 12 months a year, and the club collects food all year long, inviting the community to drop off non-perishable food at GIS. They also accept toiletries, small appliances, school supplies, presents and books. The on-going lessons included in the hunger club's monthly meetings include movies such as those provided by UNCIF and CROP, hunger exercises, and an understanding of substance wages. Anyone may mail a donation to the Youth Ending Hunger Club at Goshen Intermediate School District, 13 McNalley Street, Goshen, NY 10924.
