Lt. James McCarthy re-elected to lead FDNY lieutenants
GOSHEN — Goshen resident and fire officer Lt. James McCarthy, was re-elected to represent 15,000 FDNY Lieutenants throughout New York City.
The vote took place June 12 at a general membership meeting in Queens. It's the start of a second term for the decorated hero who previously ran to fill a partial term this past January.
Prior to joining the Uniformed Fire Officers Association in 2009, McCarthy dedicated 26 years of service to city residents as an FDNY firefighter.
"I will work hard to prove myself worthy of the confidence and trust that the membership has placed in me,” said McCarthy. “I am humbled by their support of my candidacy.”
McCarthy lives in Goshen with his family.
