CHESTER — Ro Joyce, executive secretary to the Superintendent of the Chester Union Free School District, received the Mid-Hudson School Study Councils Award for Excellence in Support Services.

She will be honored on Oct. 14 at a dinner at Anthony’s Pier 9 in New Windsor.

"Mrs. Joyce is hard-working, extremely loyal and very organized," said a statement by the school. "With all of the state reporting requirements that continue to be pushed down to school districts, she has 'stepped up' and taken on these additional tasks. Her attention to detail ensures that teacher professional development hours, information needed to report teacher and principal evaluation data and another personnel reporting information are completed accurately and on time. In addition to completing her own tasks, Mrs. Joyce will regularly reach out to her colleagues to assist with major projects that need to be complete."
