— "We are happy to say that this is our 14th year in Goshen!" says the Mid-Hudson St. Patrick's Parade Committee, which is gearing up for the big day on Sunday, March 13.

Line up for the parade will be at 1 p.m. at three locations: the Orange County Government Center, Erie Street, and Scotchtown Road. The parade will step off at 2 p.m.

Parade day starts with a 9 a.m. Mass at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 70 Carmelite Drive, Middletown. The service honors St. Patrick, patron saint of the Archdiocese of New York. His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan will be the Mass Celibrant.

The parade committee will then host its Grand Marshal’s Breakfast, in honor of Sister Ann, at Kuhl’s Highland House at 10.30 a.m. (Sorry, this is a ticket holder only breakfast. No tickets will be sold at the door.)

The parade will include marching pipe and drum units and marching bands, including The Pipes and Drums of the AOH of Orange County, the Walker Valley Marching Band, Scotia-Glenville Pipe Band, Firefighter McPadden Pipe Band, New York City Retired Firefighter Pipes and Drums, Chester Academy Marching Band, Broome Street Marching Band, Middletown High School Marching Band, and the North Rockland High School Marching Band. The award-winning Excelsior Marching Band will be making its debut.

Others making their way through the village will be military honor guards, JROTC units, schools, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, Irish and Polish dancers, and many other organizations.

The parade route and organizational line up locations can be found at www.mhspp.org and the Parade Committee’s Facebook page.
